![]() In 2009, the museum launched its Wednesday evening MOCA by Moonlight programs featuring Contemporary Art Boot Camp lectures, 5 Minutes of Fame artists forums, and Arts for All, hands-on art classes for adults. To further an understanding of contemporary art, MOCA offers educational programs geared toward the community and its diverse population. The Museum of Contemporary Art recognizes the need to enrich the cultural life of the community and to nurture a knowledgeable and supportive audience. She previously served as Curatorial Assistant at The Shed, Public Programs and Community Engagement Assistant at the Studio Museum in Harlem, and was an inaugural joint curatorial fellow at The Studio Museum in Harlem and the Museum of Modern Art. The South Florida Cultural Consortium is one of the most successful regional arts alliances in the nation, demonstrating that by sharing resources and best practices, the arts can thrive across a burgeoning five-county area.Īdeze Wilford leads the curatorial department at MOCA North Miami, organizes the program of exhibitions, oversees the museum’s permanent collection, public art initiatives, and MOCA’s distinctive guest curator program. Its programs and services range from the Visual and Media Artists Program to regional arts education and cultural tourism cooperative ventures. The Consortium works to foster cooperation across the South Florida region to help develop and promote the work of cultural organizations and artists and the audiences that they serve. The Consortium’s members are the local arts agencies of these five counties, including the Broward County Cultural Division, the Arts Council of Martin County, the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Keys Council of the Arts, and the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County. Visitors can expect to engage with the works of the artists, each with their unique perspectives and styles, creating an atmosphere of discovery.
